2024 Grant Funding Winners
TAAHC is pleased to announce the 2024 Grant funding winners. More than $600,000 has been awarded to local health researchers in a bid to kick start their research into some of the north’s most challenging health issues.
The Seed Funding and Clinical Research Fellowship programs support research projects across a diverse range of health and medical challenges, underpinned by our core research themes:
- Service delivery to regional, rural, remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations
- Innovative health workforce models
- Non-communicable diseases with high regional prevalence
- Infectious diseases
TAAHC’s interim Chair, Helen Darch AOM said the centre’s grant scheme provides opportunities for researchers at every career stage to translate their ideas, whether it be formed in the laboratory, in the clinic or in the community, into deliverable evidence-based outcomes.'
'The diversity across researcher career stage, discipline, disease focus and location will support a wide array of new research and answer some of north Queensland’s toughest health and medical questions.'
The grants include a Seed Funding Scheme, focused on helping researchers secure larger grants to grow their project and Clinical Researcher Fellowships, which provide working clinicians with security to undertake their research activities.
From 17 applications in total, 13 applications were awarded funding after an extensive peer review process by our Expert Advisory Group. Over $600,000 has been committed for this funding round.
